VISUAL ARTIST

"Any story can be told visually, as long as you have a clear idea."

K. Rocco Shields is no stranger when it comes to visual storytelling. Having studied from the masters Alfred Hitchcock, D. W. Griffith,  as well as over 15 years of experience, Shields  vision is to take any context and drive the message by mere suggestion.

For example, how do you show a young girl being pushed into a toilet without actually showing it? How do you convey the brutality of this kind of bullying? Shields came up with the idea of having the camera being put through a fishbowl and the young girl is pushed in. This one shot in the short film “Love Is All You Need?” conveyed Ashley’s bullied world without ever having to be ducked in an actual toliet.
